Here’s a clip just over two minutes long that illustrates how to eliminate the final boss of the Nordic ruin Ironbind Barrow in Bethesda’s popular 2011 action-RPG: it shows the killing of Warlord Gathrick in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Warlord Gathrick resides in Ironbind Barrow, an ancient, medium-sized Nordic tomb located about a distance southeast of Dawnstar and southwest of Winterhold on the road from Whiterun to Windhelm, a short distance north-northwest of the Nightgate Inn near Wayward Pass through the northern mountain range.

Gathrick’s past is unknown, but he was obviously very powerful, as Beem-Ja wanted to drain his power at any cost, even if it meant killing the one who saved him from being cut down by Gathrik. He is the most powerful draugr in Skyrim, surpassing even Red Eagle and the Gauldur Brothers.

Accompanied by other skeletons or draugr, Warlord Gathrick sits on a throne facing the word wall for the “Become Ethereal” shout. On the back of the throne is the Steel Battleaxe of Fiery Souls, which can be disenchanted with its unique Fiery Soul Trap spell.

During the Coming of Age quest, Beem-Ja and Salma will help you explore Ironbind Barrow. After defeating Gathrik, Beem-Ja reveals that he is trying to absorb the Warlord’s power and needs to use you as a blood sacrifice. Killing Beem-Ja prevents Gathrik’s power from being absorbed.

Gathrik’s appearance can vary between the “less armored” and “armored” draugr type. He stands about half a meter taller than normal draugr deathlords. In fact, in terms of height, he is one of the largest humanoids in the game, along with Ebony Warrior, Tsun, and Soul Cain’s Keeper. At higher levels, Gathrik can also appear as a dragon priest and, therefore, be a magic user.

This monster wields a one-handed weapon and a shield or a two-handed weapon. At lower levels, it is known to wield an Enchanted Nordic Greatsword. Gathrik has a very high armor class, around 400, and three shouts at its disposal: Frost Breath, Unrelenting Force, and Disarm Shout. Its health is also remarkably high, close to or equal to that of dragon priests. Its combat style is very direct, which involves going after the primary aggressor. It is also faster than a typical draugr. Warlord Gathrik drops a quantity of gold, a weapon up to level 39, bone meal, and full or empty soul gems, including the possibility of two black soul gems at higher levels.

Anyway, I think that’s enough to give you a general idea. Note that the match in the video was on Master difficulty.

Hope this helps!
